Jordan Vineyard & Winery

Jordan Winery is one of Sonoma's most singular estates — a Tuscany-meets-Bordeaux chateau on a 1,200-acre Alexander Valley property that has been producing just two wines since 1976: an Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and a Russian River Valley Chardonnay. The decision to focus on only these two wines, made by founder Tom Jordan, has shaped every aspect of the operation. The wines are designed to drink well from release but reward five to fifteen years of cellaring.

The estate is a destination in its own right. Beyond the wines, Jordan has built one of California's most ambitious estate-grown food programmes, with olive oil from on-site groves, honey from estate hives, and seasonal produce from the kitchen garden. The chateau, modelled on a French country house, sits atop a hill with sweeping views of the Alexander Valley and beyond.
