About Ponzi Vineyards
Ponzi Vineyards is one of the founding families of the Willamette Valley — Dick and Nancy Ponzi planted their first vines in 1970, making them among the very first Oregon Pinot pioneers alongside David Lett and Dick Erath. The family is also responsible for opening BridgePort Brewing in Portland, making them quietly central to both Oregon's wine and beer renaissance.
Today the estate is run by the second generation — Luisa Ponzi (winemaker) and Maria Ponzi (CEO) — and the wines have continued to evolve. The portfolio centres on single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Chehalem Mountains AVA, with the Avellana, Aurora, and Madrona Vineyard bottlings each showing distinct expressions of the region. The Reserve Pinot Noir is the flagship, blended from the estate's best blocks.
What to Expect
The modern hilltop tasting room overlooks the Chehalem Valley and Mt. Hood. The standard tasting walks through 5 wines, including a Pinot Gris and several Pinots. The premium reserve tasting adds library wines and a deeper dive into the single vineyards. Service is friendly and welcoming.

Visitor Tips
Reservations recommended on weekends. The single-vineyard Pinot flight is the must-do — comparing Avellana, Aurora, and Madrona side by side is a masterclass in Chehalem Mountains terroir. The Pinot Gris is one of Oregon's best and a great value bottle to take home.
