Fox Run Vineyards

Fox Run Vineyards is one of the most thoughtful estates on Seneca Lake — a 50-acre property on the western shore that produces a distinctive portfolio across Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and the unusual-for-the-US Lemberger (Austria's Blaufränkisch). Owner and winemaker Scott Osborn has been at the helm since 1994 and has steadily built Fox Run into one of the region's most respected mid-sized producers.

The signature offering is the Geology Riesling Trio — three Rieslings from the same vintage but different soil profiles, sold and tasted together. The trio is one of the most educational tastings in the Eastern US — a single-variety, single-vintage masterclass in how terroir shapes wine. The Cabernet Franc here is among the best in the region, and the Lemberger is a rare US example of the grape that gives Austrian wine some of its best red character.
